People have been talking about what’s being called the beer summit. The Beer Summit, as it’s called, is a sit down talk between President Obama, Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr., and Cambridge Police Sgt. James Crowley. Crowley is the officer that arrested Gates at his home, which ignited accusations of racial profiling, which Crowley has flatly denied the entire time. Obama stuck his foot in his mouth by siding with a claimed racial motive, although the 911 tapes don’t mention Gates’ race, and in order to iron things out, Obama has invited both men to the White House for a beer.
