We used to own an apartment close to a train track, it was literally right beyond our back yard. At first I thought it was quite annoying but after I got used to them coming regularly I found it quite comforting. The noise also helped my children to learn to sleep through noise. When our kids were older they would run to the window and watch the trains pass by, they loved it. I wish there were more trains and train stations around the world. It would be so much fun to take a cross country trip by train like people did back in the day.
