Infection, injury cross the line
As spring approaches, summer heat can’t be far behind, can it? Warmer temperatures mean less clothing, and with less clothing comes the return to that eternal quest… for the perfect body.
Exercise and diet play their part, but personal grooming shouldn’t be forgotten. In some places, hair is good. Depending upon the woman you ask, however, hair is the source of no small amount of friction. The distress some women and men put themselves through in the quest for sexy smoothness is unconscionable to some; for others, it makes for entertaining theater. Some wouldn’t think twice about taking a cash advance to pay.
Like the Brazilian bikini wax
However, some residents of New Jersey are not amused. Beth DeFalco reports for the Associated Press that the state’s Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling is preparing to ban the Brazilian bikini wax after two women reported being “injured in their quest for a smooth bikini line.” The women were hospitalized for infections following the cosmetic treatment. One of them filed a lawsuit, according to Jeff Lamm of New Jersey’s Division of Consumer Affairs.
A fine line must be drawn here. DeFalco points out that waxing of the genitalia has never been allowed in New Jersey. Face, neck, abdomen, legs and arms are fine, but because Brazilian bikini wax wasn’t specifically banned, a gray area was allowed to exist.
