I saw a headline today that really caught my attention: “Are You Wasting Money on Your Cell Plan?” I felt like ABC News was reading my mind.

I also identified with the article’s implications that people often don’t bother changing their plans or companies because it’s too complicated or too much hassle. Then I came across that all-too-convincing phrase, “experts say,”  followed by “it’s worth it.”

Luckily, some kind souls out there have made things a little less complicated. They’ve done the research for us! BillShrink.com is a web site dedicated to comparing wireless phone plans. On a side note, it also compares credit card plans, so check it out.

MyRatePlan.com also compares phone plans. It’s got all the major wireless carriers. It compares all different kinds of phones — Blackberries, phones with GPS connections and camera phones.

Things to consider

When getting payday loans, it’s important to only take the bare minimum of what you need. The same is true if you are looking at a new cell phone plan. Know your needs. Find out how many text messages you send and receive each month. How many pictures do you take? Do you need Internet on your phone, and how much do you use it?
